Dnipro have announced that winger Yevhen Konoplyanka is close to an agreement with Roma.
According to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk general director Andrei Stetsenko, winger Yevhen Konoplyanka is close to an agreement with Roma.
Konoplyanka, 25, was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool during last year's January transfer window, but more recently he's been touted a target for Tottenham.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly looking to add the Ukrainian to his options on the flanks, and recent reports from the Daily Mail suggested Spurs had opened talks with Dnipro over a deal.
However, despite the Daily Mail also reporting that Everton had enquired about Konoplyanka only to be told that he'd be heading to Spurs, it seems that a move to Italy is on the cards, with Stetsenko confirming to the Dnipro official website that an agreement with Roma is close.
"In fact, Dnipro and Roma are in talks over Konoplyanka, and clubs have almost reached an agreement. There is the possibility that he may change teams," said Stetsenko.
Roma have recently been linked with a move for Chelsea's Mohamed Salah, but it appears that Rudi Garcia's men have turned their attentions to Konoplyanka instead.
Konoplyanka's contract expires at the end of this season, and ESPN reported on Monday that Dnipro wouldn't sell him for any less than €15m (£11.25m).
Yet with the threat of the winger leaving for nothing at the end of the season, Dnipro appear to have been tempted into a sale - and it's a blow for Tottenham, with Konoplyanka seemingly on his way to the Eternal City to play for Roma.
