The London Evening Standard has reported that Roma are looking at one last attempt to sign Vlad Chiriches from Tottenham Hotspur.
The paper claims that after initially turning away from a deal, the Serie A side will have one last go to see if they can secure a transfer before the end of the window, as a result of injuries.
Chiriches has been used inconsistently by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino this season, but the importance of the Premier League and Europa League in terms of the side securing Champions League football, could cause them to keep the Romanian for the rest of the season.
Chiriches may not be the highest quality player at Tottenham but he’s a first team squad member who cover at centre-back while also providing an option at right-back.
The Standard claims that doubts over the current match fitness of new signing DeAndre Yedlin mean that Spurs are reluctant to see Chiriches leave because of that cover he provides to Kyle Walker.
However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has always taken good deals for Tottenham’s key players so a deal could still happen.
