The Burnley Express reports that speculation linking Burnley with a move for Sweden international Nabil Bahoui is wide of the mark.
The Clarets were said to be considering a loan approach for the AIK Stockholm winger.
Creativity will be crucial for Sean Dyche’s side as they battle to avoid slipping through the Premier League trapdoor.
There is no transfer war chest to play with at Turf Moor, so short-term agreements may be the way forward.
Bahoui was mooted as a possible target, with the Daily Star suggesting that top-flight rivals Everton, Sunderland, Southampton, Stoke City and Crystal Palace have also expressed an interest.
The 23-year-old is said to be valued at around £3 million, although a loan move is considered to be more likely in January than a permanent transfer.
It appears unlikely that he will end up at Turf Moor, though, with the Burnley Express claiming that the Clarets ‘haven’t firmed up any interest’.
That may leave the door open to others, with it possible that Bahoui could still end up in England before the winter window slams shut on February 2.
