Togo international Serge Gakpe could be set for a move to Selhurst Park this month.
Crystal Palace are considering a move for Nantes winger Serge Gakpe, according to L’Equipe.
Gakpe, 27, is out of contract in the summer, and has seen his first-team minutes decrease in recent weeks as negotiations over a new deal continue to stall.
Nantes are keen to offload the Togo international this month as a result, rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer, but Serie A club Torino have held initial talks over signing a pre-contract agreement.
The Ligue 1 said are even reported to have offered the French-born forward to Palace, per the Daily Mail, in a bid to receive some return on their investment, but it remains to be seen what kind of fee Alan Pardew’s side will be asked to hand over.
A versatile front man, comfortable out wide or through the middle, Gakpe has scored just twice in 23 total appearances this season, but has impressed at times with his creative impact on the flanks.
His potential signing could make it two Ligue 1 players arriving at Selhurst Park this week, with Palace hoping to wrap up the £3.4 million signing of Lille left-back Pape Souare in the coming days.
