Sol Bamba has said he is ready to make his Leeds United debut if called upon this weekend.
New Leeds United defender Sol Bamba has been speaking to the club’s official website about the prospect of making his debut this weekend.
The 30-year-old Ivorian signed on loan for the rest of the season from Italian side Palermo and manager Neil Redfearn must now decide how much game-time to give the player who used to turn out for Leicester City.
Leeds take on Huddersfield on Saturday, hoping to maintain the form that saw them defeat Championship leaders Bournemouth last time out, but having featured only once this season in Serie A, is Bamba ready for the challenge?
“Everyone wants to play in big games so if the manager wants me, I’ll be ready,” Bamba said.
“I think I still need some match fitness, but I’m not far off. If the manager wanted me to play the whole 90 minutes I believe I would be okay.”
Leeds’ new arrival has signed with the club until June and his past experience with the Foxes could prove vital as he looks to help his new side up the table.
The Whites are currently 20th in the Championship, but they are undefeated in their last three matches and a victory at the weekend would be another huge step in the right direction.
