Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva sent fans a message of thanks after the side's narrow League Cup defeat.
Brendan Rodgers' side were defeated 2-1 on aggregate, conceding a goal to Branislav Ivanovic after extra time.
The Brazilian midfielder played all 120 minutes of the contest and was booked during the loss.
Just want to thank you the support we got and say sorry that we couldn't make to the final. YNWA— Lucas Leiva (@LucasLeiva87) January 27, 2015
Despite the defeat, Liverpool were able to leave Stamford Bridge with their heads held high, having matched Chelsea over the two legs, narrowly being edged out.
There are 17 points separating the two sides in the Premier League table, but it did not appear like it over the two matches.
Lucas put in a typically committed display at Stamford Bridge, attempting nine tackles, a figure matched only by Emre Can.
Since he has come back into the Liverpool first team having been out of favour earlier in the season, their performances have dramatically improved, and they are back in contention to earn a Champions League place.
Daniel Sturridge is close to a return and could be a real difference maker for the Reds, and fans will not be able to help but think what may have been had the England international been available for both legs of the semi-final.
