Juventus star says Manchester United must live with their mistake regarding Paul Pogba

Andrea Pirlo has been speaking about the prospect of Paul Pogba returning to Manchester United.

In comments published by the Daily Mail, Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has said Manchester United can forget about re-signing Paul Pogba.

The French international has been linked with a £70million return to Old Trafford, despite the fact that United had him on their books as a youngster only to ultimately see him leave when his contract expired.

Many United fans were calling for Pogba to be given a chance to Old Trafford with the side lacking quality midfielders at the time, but the teenager was hardly used and ultimately swapped the Premier League for Serie A, where he has blossomed into one of the best players in Europe.

That has led to speculation linking him with a United return, but Italian great Pirlo said, “For whatever reasons they chose not to give him (Pogba) a chance, and that is a mistake they will have to live with now.

“I can’t see that he will ever return to Manchester United.”

Pogba has played 113 games for Juventus despite being only 21, and in that time he has scored 22 goals and provided 19 assists.

He only managed seven appearances for United’s first-team prior to his departure and in truth it seems highly unlikely the Old Trafford faithful will ever get the chance to see just what an outstanding player he can be week in, week out.
