Celtic want Gary Mackay-Steven
Celtic will make a last-ditch attempt to secure the signing of Gary Mackay-Steven from Dundee United this month, according to the Daily Mail.
The Bhoys are expected to sign Mackay-Steven in the summer, when he becomes a free agent, but they could try and rush through the transfer before the close of the January window.
Deila backs struggling strikers
Celtic boss Ronny Deila has backed John Guidetti and Leigh Griffiths to become a potent partnership for the club in the future.
Guidetti and Griffiths have started up front together twice this campaign to little impact, but Deila believes things will change as they become more accustomed to each other's playing styles.
"I am sure that in the future we will see John and Leigh combining to good effect for the team," he told the Glasgow Evening Times.
"They did well together at the weekend. They created chances for the team, but we were not accurate enough to be able to take them. But I am sure it will be different in the future."
Fraser coy on exit
Former Celtic defender Marcus Fraser would not disclose his reasons for leaving Parkhead to join Ross County earlier this month.
Fraser joined Ross County after only making two appearances for the Bhoys during his time there, but the youngster wasn't prepared to discuss his exit when asked.
“It’s not for me to say why I left Celtic, it’s up to the coaching staff,” he said to the Inverness Courier. “I enjoyed my time there but sometimes players just need to move on. I’ve got my chance here so hopefully I can push forward.
