The 17-year-old said, “It’ll be a little bit different because when you travel with the first-team you feel like you’ve got a bit of luxury.
“We’ll be on our own but I think we’re ready and we’ll do the best we can.”
Dobson was referring to the fact that his recent exploits in Europe for the UEFA Youth League have seen the younger players travel with the first-team as the two sides played corresponding fixtures against Champions League group rivals and their younger sides.
This time the young Gunners are doing things on their own, with the last-16 clash to be decided in a single match.
“They’re going to be a really tough opponent,” Dobson added.
But having already featured in four Youth League matches this season the youngster will have the confidence to take on one of Europe’s most famous names.
Dobson will be tasked with keeping Atletico’s forwards at bay, but he will have seen some of Arsenal’s other teenage prospects given first-team chances this season and know that every good performance is sure to be noted by manager Arsene Wenger.
