United transfer round-up: Tagseth set for Old Trafford trial; Barca midfielder latest

Old Trafford

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report in the Daily Star, Manchester United are one of the clubs set to welcome Norwegian teenager Edvard Sandvik Tagseth for a trial.

The FK Neset player has allegedly already spent time at Everton and is set for another spell on Merseyside shortly, along with stints at both United and Manchester City.

The 14-year-old midfielder reportedly has an agreement with Rosenborg but that has not stopped the latest links, with Tagseth already being dubbed a wonder-kid like his supremely talented countryman and recent Real Madrid signing Martin Odegaard despite failing to have a similar impact thus far.

In other news, the Daily Star also reports that United are among the clubs set to miss out on Barcelona's Sergio Busquets, with the Spanish international allegedly preparing to have contract talks with the La Liga club.

The report claims United are one of those sides monitoring the defensive midfielder’s situation, but despite alleged rumours of uncertainty it appears he could be set to sign a new long-term deal at the Nou Camp.
