A round-up of the developing transfer stories...
Arsenal expect to clinch Gabriel Paulista deal
Arsenal are expected to announce the signing of Gabriel Paulista within 24 hours, report The BBC. They report that the Brazilian defender has cleared a major obstacle to his transfer, having been granted a work permit despite not being capped by his country.
Paulista is a centre-back and is a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen who was sold last summer to Barcelona, and the soon to be former Villareal defender adds important depth to the club's backline.
West Brom enquire for Mbodj
West Brom have made an enquiry for Kara Mbodj, report The Mail. The same paper reported last month that Scottish side Celtic are also taking an interest in the player, who is adaptable enough to feature at both centre-back and central midfield.
Mbodj's current boss is former Rangers, Birmingham and Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish, and The Mail report the Senegalese star is valued at £5 million.
Southampton consider Clasie
The Mirror report Southampton boss Ronald Koeman wants to raid former club Feyenoord to sign midfielder Jordy Clasie. They do not suggest this is a deal to watch this transfer window, but instead maintain Clasie is being eyed as a long-term replacement for French international Morgan Schneiderlin.
