Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado has told the club’s website he feels it’s important the team go into matches with more confidence.
Spurs saw their chances of winning the FA Cup this season slip away after they fell to defeat against Leicester City and the Spaniard feels there is hope of success in other competitions if the side responds in the right manner.
“The FA Cup is an important competition for us and we have a good squad of players who want to compete in these games,” said the striker.
“We are still in the Capital One Cup and we have the Premier League and Europa League challenges as well. These are very important competitions and we need to be confident going into our matches. We have some big games ahead.”
Tottenham are well placed in their League Cup semi-final against Sheffield United, heading into the second leg this week with a 1-0 lead.
The team are also well placed to attack the Europa League with a large squad of players who should be ready to step up and be counted, with that competition also representing a chance for the team to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The league represents the same chance, with Spurs well placed to compete for a top four position.
The problem in the league has been consistency and one of the ways that confidence will grow is if the side can be consistent across all competitions.
If the results improve, the players become more confident that they’re doing the right things and Soldado firmly believes that will work in the side’s favour.
