According to Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham are discussing a potential swap deal with Roma, with Vlad Chiriches possibly heading to Italy in exchange for striker Mattia Destro.
The Romanian international, 25, started at right back for Spurs against Leicester in the FA Cup on Saturday, but has largely been on the fringes of the team this season, with manager Mauricio Pochettino choosing to use Federizo Fazio and Jan Vertonghen as his first choice centre back pairing.
A move away would therefore be little surprise, but Spurs could now get a prolific striker in exchange for the defender, with Destro potentially heading to White Hart Lane.
Destro, 23, has hit 24 goals in 57 games for Roma, and has earned eight caps for the Italian national team - despite regularly being a substitute for Rudi Garcia's Roma.
An exit has looked inevitable for some time, and this potential swap deal would be ideal; Spurs would allow Chiriches to leave the club in search of first-team football, whilst they would be able to land Destro, who would provide another option in attack.
Pochettino is limited to just three strikers so far, and whilst Harry Kane has been outstanding, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado have added little to the frontline this season.
Tutto Mercato Web suggest that there could be news over Destro's future in the coming hours, and right now, Tottenham look like being a possible destination.
