Steve McClaren could name a strong Derby County side to face Blackburn Rovers.
Derby remain in a great position in the Championship table, three points away from leaders Bournemouth and the side could end up in the automatic promotion places to the Premier League by the end of tomorrow evening.
Derby have the edge over Blackburn in terms of the head-to-head stats between the sides with a more prolific attack and a better defence. The defeat against local rivals Nottingham Forest remains the side’s only defeat this month.
That will give manager Steve McClaren the confidence that his team can prevail over the course of 90 minutes if they stay patient and bide their time, not going too hard and leaving their backline exposed.
It will be interesting to see whether the team goes with a more conventional back four or whether the boss opts for a three at the back system, which was evident at times during the FA Cup game against Chesterfield.
Here’s the potential team that Steve McClaren could go with for the game.
Derby County: Grant, Albentosa, Christie, Keogh, Buxton, Hendrick, Mascarell, Hughes, Forsyth, Martin, Bent
