New Leeds midfielder delighted to join the club.
New Leeds United signing Granddi Ngoyi has sent fans a message conveying his delight to join the club.
The Frenchman had played in five matches for his parent club this season, but every one was as a substitute, and joins defender Sol Bamba in making the switch to Leeds this January.
A former PSG trainee, Ngoyi is a central midfielder who will add real presence to the team, and lift some of the burden on excellent teenagers Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt to perform.
Ngoyi is already thinking positively despite his lack of match practice, telling the club website he aims to show fans what he can do as soon as the fixture with Huddersfield this weekend.
Along with Bamba, he has been signed on loan, with a transfer embargo presently preventing the club from adding any players on a permanent basis this month. Italian website Tuttomercatoweb reported over the weekend that if Leeds want to sign Ngoyi in the summer it will cost them two million Euros.
Here is a look at how fans reacted to his signing via Twitter...
Ngoyi and Austin in midfield worry for the welfare of the opposition players #lufc— Chris Purdy (@ChrisPurdy3) January 26, 2015
Hope this ngoyi fella is a bit of a midfield general, just what we need. And bamba is decent on the ball right? Two good signings #lufc— Gregg (@G_C_Q) January 26, 2015
Ngoyi & Bamba aren't Italian & they've played almost all their football outside of Italy. No point comparing them to Italian imports #lufc— Leeds Fans #GFHout (@LeedsFanz) January 26, 2015
