One of the biggest rivalries in European football reappears this evening, but in under-21 format as Liverpool’s youngsters head away to Manchester United.
United will fancy their chances heading into this game and will arguably be the favourites to secure three points, which will solidify their position near the top of the first division of the under-21 Premier League.
Manchester United will go level on points with Chelsea and Southampton if they get the win and will keep a game in hand.
The difference between the sides appears to be United’s defence because United’s attack has only scored one more goal than Liverpool’s despite the fact the Reds are second bottom in the table.
However, Liverpool’s under-21 side has played the fewest games compared to all of the other sides in division one and this is a chance for them to start building some momentum.
It’s a great opportunity for both teams to impress the first team coaches at either club as they push to gain recognition and a first team chance before the end of the season.
