New Leeds United signing received advice from Max Gradel ahead of his move.
From one former Leeds United hero, to another who hopes to be.
New Leeds loanee Sol Bamba has revealed he received a text message from winger Max Gradel, wishing him well upon his loan move.
Speaking to Leeds United TV, Bamba said: "He said I would love it here, and he said the fans will be good with me if I done the business."
There are few players Leeds fans would rather have back than former favourite Gradel, who is an Ivory Coast international teammate of Bamba.
Gradel is currently at the African Cup of Nations, being held in Equatorial Guinea, and scored in a recent 1-1 draw with Mali.
He was part of the same World Cup squad as Bamba, although the new Leeds addition has recently lost his international place after barely featuring at Palermo since joining the Italian club in the summer from Trabzonspor.
27-year-old Gradel currently plays for French side Saint-Etienne, extending his contract there last September until 2017, reported the BBC, and the side sit fourth in Ligue 1 at present.
The winger played 82 times for Leeds, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists.
