Josh Onomah's latest performance was praised by under-21 coach Ugo Ehiogu.

Exciting midfielder Josh Onomah continues to impress in Tottenham's youth set up.

The teenager made his first team debut earlier this month in the FA Cup against Burnley as a substitute.

On Monday he was featuring for Spurs' under-21 side, in a 0-0 draw against Leicester City, and was picked out for praise by coach Ugo Ehiogu, along with two of his teammates.

The former Aston Villa defender told Tottenham's website: "We showed good bravery with Kyle Walker-Peters taking the ball and driving at people, I thought Josh Onomah was superb in central midfield, as was Connor Ogilvie at the back."

Onomah was playing in his third age group this month, captaining the under-18 side last week in their FA Youth Cup victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Already in the thoughts of head coach Mauricio Pochettino, positive feedback from his under-21 games will only enhance his cause for further consideration and integration into the first team set up.

With Spurs battling away in three competitions still, now may not be the time to throw him into the side,  and it may be next season until he gets a start, but the Argentine has shown at Southampton he is not afraid to make such a decision when he feels the time is right.
