Erik Lamela made his return from from injury against Leicester City on Saturday, but Spurs fans were split over his performance.

Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup in the fourth round on Saturday, with Leicester City coming from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

Andros Townsend's first half penalty put Spurs on their way, but late goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Jeffrey Schlupp sent the Foxes through.

The game saw a number of fringe players given a start, with Vlad Chiriches, Paulinho and Etienne Capoue featuring in the starting XI, whilst Erik Lamela also played after almost a month out through a calf injury.

The former Roma winger has had a stop-start career at White Hart Lane so far, but is still struggling to repay that £26m price tag after 18 months with the club.

Against Leicester, he flitted in and out of the game, and fans were split over the 22-year-old's performance on Twitter after the final whistle.

Some fans suggested that the Argentine's return to the side was a welcome boost, and that he was one of the better players on the pitch in a tough defeat.

Yet others are still unconvinced, with one fan even blasting the club's decision to sell Gylfi Sigurdsson to Swansea in the summer and keep Lamela.

Here are some of the reactions to Lamela's display from Tottenham fans on Twitter...
