Sunderland headed into the tie as favourites, but the Cottagers gave a good account of themselves at the Stadium of Light to deservedly earn a replay.
Tunnicliffe, who featured for the entire 90 minutes, was disappointed not to have settled the tie in Sunderland, but he was still happy to have helped Fulham get a replay.
After the match, the 22-year-old former Manchester United prospect took to Twitter to post the following messages:
The magic of the cup is still alive and well ...— Ryan Tunnicliffe (@RyanTunnicliffe) January 24, 2015
Little disappointed we didn't get the win. But we're still in the draw. Lads were excellent!— Ryan Tunnicliffe (@RyanTunnicliffe) January 24, 2015
Fulham will now turn their attention to league action. Kit Symons’s side are currently 14th in the Championship table with 34 points from 27 matches, and will take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park next weekend.
