Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher looks certain to leave Old Trafford this month.
The 30-year-old midfielder has suffered from an influx of new players at Old Trafford last summer, restricting his opportunities to work himself into Louis van Gaal’s first-team plans.
Fletcher has started just four Premier League matches this season, with a further seven appearances coming off the substitutes' bench.
The midfielder's experience and evident ability would represent a real coup for the Hoops, but Deila knows that he has a tough task of persuading him to move north of the border.
"There is nothing new in that matter,” Deila was quoted as saying by Sporting Life. “He has several names (interested clubs) and I think it is best for me to wait to next Monday to see where we are."
The Daily Mail highlighted West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United as other potential suitors on Thursday, although Hammers manager Sam Allardyce admitted that talks had yet commenced.
Fletcher made his United debut in 2003 and has since gone on to make 342 appearances in all competitions, helping the club win multiple trophies.
