Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin took to social networking site Twitter in order to share a photo alongside Santi Cazorla with his fans, praising his Spanish compatriot.
He wrote: “Training with the man of the moment, @19SCazorla now onto the #FACup!! #COYG”
The former Barcelona youth product isn’t wrong in his assessment of Cazorla as the playmaker currently presides over the best form of his career.
Summer signing Alexis Sanchez has rightfully taken the plaudits over the last few months as a result of his incredible goal scoring feats, yet arguably the real driving force behind the team is Cazorla.
In his previous nine appearances in all competitions, the former Villarreal favourite has scored five goals and assisted a further three, prompting boss Arsene Wenger to revel in his performances.
“He is very talented football player and since he plays central, he has taken on another dimension,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail in midweek.
“On the flank he was a bit more exposed to things where he is not at his best. In the middle of the park he gets you out of situations when you are under pressure. Technically he is always perfect.”
“In the recent games, he is in the best form of his career. He is happy to play anywhere. He is happy to be the ball every day and he is a perfect example of every young player to follow.”
Cazorla has fond memories of the FA Cup, helping the North Londoners to a wonderful comeback victory in the final at Wembley last season with a fine free-kick.
He will be hoping to create some more this season.
