Cambridge United star Luke Chadwick told reporters that Manchester United’s Angel di Maria was the one player he feared most, the club’s official website report.
The Argentine international joined the Red Devils for a club record fee in the summer after spending four years at La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Santiago Benabeu stadium to Old Trafford certainly isn’t a bad transition for Di Maria, yet on Friday night he found himself playing at Abbey Stadium in-front of a packed out crowd of just 7,987.
The 26-year-old is one of a number of world class stars currently employed by United, yet Chadwick picked the former Real Madrid ace as the one he feared most ahead of the intriguing FA Cup encounter.
"I'd have to say Di Maria, if he plays,” Chadwick said when quizzed by MUTV on United’s most fearsome player. “I've loved watching him play since he signed for United. I think he's a real world-class player.”
"We know we're playing against one of the top teams in the world and if they play to their full capabilities then obviously it's going to be really tough for us.”
The plucky League Two outfit were excellent throughout as they held the Red Devils to a 0-0 draw, forcing a money-spinning replay at Old Trafford.
Di Maria struggled to get into the game but almost won it for United with a late half-volley that was excellently saved by Cambridge stopper Chris Dunn.
