Par Zetterberg compares Tottenham star Nacer Chadli to Belgian legend Marc Degryse

The former Sweden international has been impressed with Chadli this season.

One of Tottenham's revelations of the current season has been Nacer Chadli. The Belgian arrived last summer but struggled to have a major impact on the team last term. However he has turned things around this term including some very impressive performances, especially an excellent display in the 5-3 triumph against Chelsea.

That has caught the attention of former Anderlecht midfielder Par Zetterberg, who has compared him to a Belgium legend in the form of Marc Degryse.

The former Sheffield Wednesday cult star is more well known for his time at Club Brugge and Anderlecht. He also has 63 caps and 23 goals for Belgium. However he spent a season at Sheffield Wednesday in 1995/96, helping the club survive relegation from the Premier League.

Zetterberg, a former Swedish international, spent 14 years of his career in Belgium with Anderecht over two separate spells. Now he works in the Belgian media and an Anderlecht youth coach. He has been speaking about Chadli this week. As quoted by Voetbal Nieuws he stated:

"I have already seen Chadli play often and I can not get informed on him. Is he a striker, a number ten or a flank attacker? He is a wanderer who fulfils his role in any position. I see a lot of Marc Degryse in him.

"But let him temporarily do as he is doing, but to be at the very top he must secure one position. I admire his game."

Chadli has switched around positions a lot at Tottenham. He has played on both flanks as well as behind the striker. But this Belgian league legend believes the Rode Duivel can become a star in time.
