The North London outfit crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday, when they suffered 2-1 defeat to fellow Premier League club Leicester at White Hart Lane.
Spurs were favourites heading into the fourth-round tie and took the lead in the 19th minute through Andros Townsend, but they conceded twice late on to lose the contest.
Leonardo Ulloa restored parity for the Foxes seven minutes from time, and Jeffrey Schlupp scored the winner in injury time.
It was a disappointing result for Tottenham, who failed to maintain their focus for the final few minutes and paid for it.
Vorm, who started the match against Leicester, has highlighted Tottenham’s failure to take the chances they had and wrap up the game long before Leicester staged a comeback.
“We said at half time we have to keep going with the same spirit and same ideas,” the 31-year-old told Spurs TV. “We have to blame ourselves. We had good chances and we were 1-0 up.”
Both Tottenham and Leicester had chances, and the difference was that the Foxes took theirs.
Leicester deservedly won the tie and are now through to the fifth round of the FA Cup, leaving Spurs to rue what could have been.
It will now be interesting to see how Tottenham bounce back. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are back in action on Wednesday when they take on Sheffield United away from home in the League Cup semi-final second leg.
Having won the first leg 1-0 at White Hart Lane this week, Spurs will be considered favourites to progress to the final.
