A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool take on Bolton Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup later today, with Brendan Rodgers’ side enjoying a fine start to 2015.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Steven Gerrard will be rested ahead of the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea.

It goes on to claim that Glen Johnson, Joe Allen and Mario Balotelli may all feature at some point while youngster Jordan Rossiter – who impressed in the League Cup against Middlesbrough earlier this season – will be involved either from the start or as a substitute.

In other news, former Liverpool forward Emile Heskey has been speaking about a young Bolton player who could cause the Reds problems if he features this weekend.

Speaking to the Bolton News about his teammate Zach Clough, the veteran said, “I’ve been really impressed with Zach. He’s got a lot of talent.”

The 19-year-old could partner Heskey up front against Liverpool in today’s late kick-off and it will be interesting to see how two players at the opposite ends of their careers do against a side pushing for a cup double.
