Birmingham City welcome West Bromwich Albion to St Andrew’s for a fourth round FA Cup tie this afternoon.
The hosts are currently 11th in the Championship while Tony Pulis’s Baggies are 14th in the Premier League.
The two sides have met seven times before in this competition, with West Brom going through on six occasions, so history does not bode well for the side hoping to cause an upset this weekend.
Birmingham manager Gary Rowett will know there is still a good chance of his side reaching the play-offs this season if they can maintain their fine recent form, but this could be a boost rather than a distraction.
After Blues were almost on the end of an almighty shock against Blythe Spartans in the previous round they now have the chance to put their top flight opponents to the sword, although West Brom will know how positive a cup run could be under a manager tipped to turn their campaign around.
