Manager comments suggest blow for Tottenham in reported Adrien Rabiot chase

Alleged Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Rabiot may be going nowhere according to his current manager.

Tottenham Hotspur have received a blow in their reported pursuit of Adrien Rabiot after his manager at Paris Saint-Germain hinted he was staying in the French capital this month.

In quotes published by the Metro, PSG coach Laurent Blanc said, “I want to keep Rabiot.

“(Clement) Chantome is the only one who asked to leave. He has a great chance of leaving this winter.”

Rabiot has been linked with a loan move to White Hart Lane for much of this month, with the London Evening Standard among those reporting the alleged interest, but the 19-year-old appears to be no closer to a move and Blanc seemingly has no intention of parting with him.

The talented midfielder has played 11 times for PSG this season and has made 54 appearances in total for the Ligue 1 club. In that time he has scored four goals and provided one assist while he made his debut for France’s under-21 side in 2013 and has three caps at that level to date.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham will strengthen in what remains of this transfer window, but as time ticks away it seems less and less likely that manager Mauricio Pochettino will be able to find players who can sufficiently strengthen his playing squad midway through a campaign that still promises much.
