Tottenham Hotspur morning round-up: Developments over Rodriguez future, Carroll could leave in summer

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Liverpool are considering a move for Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez.

The paper also claims that Tottenham are still interested in a deal after failing to sign him last summer.

However, Liverpool will only act on their interest according to the paper, should he be given the all-clear for a return from injury this week.

WalesOnline claims Swansea boss Garry Monk will bide his time over a potential deal for Tottenham owned Tom Carroll.

The report values him at £5 million and suggests that Swansea have no trouble if they want to wait and do a deal at the end of the season after his loan agreement has expired.

Andros Townsend has leapt to the defence of Emmanuel Adebayor with comments published in the Daily Express.

There was great surprise earlier this week when Adebayor was named as captain for the team in the League Cup semi-final against Sheffield United.

Townsend says he hopes that the club’s fans recognise how hard he’s worked for the club over the last couple of seasons.
