The Hull Daily Mail has reported a timeframe for Mohamed Diame’s return to the first team.
The important midfielder has been suffering with a knee problem but linked up with the side for their trip to Portugal where he’s set to return to training.
The paper’s report claims the midfielder will return to light training, gradually looking to take a full part in first team proceedings by the time the Premier League action returns after the FA Cup break.
Hull are under tremendous pressure in terms of the Premier League, as they look to get out of the relegation places and climb the table over the next couple of months.
The temptation is there for Steve Bruce to try and rush him back into the first team, but that would be a mistake considering his importance and a big risk.
It’s a risk because there will be strain on his knee if he’s used before he’s at a stage of full match fitness and if there’s a repeat of the problem, he may out of action for an even longer period of time.
However, there’s no doubt the update is a boost for the club.
