According to Danish newspaper BT, Newcastle United are the latest club to have joined the chase to sign Celta Vigo winger Michael Krohn-Dehli
According to the BT report, Newcastle are the side that have offered the 31-year-old the highest salary, but all indications point to his desire to see out his career in Spain.
Celta Vigo - the Danish international’s current club - are reportedly hopeful they can persuade him to stay but Seville and Villareal are definitely said to be in the picture for his signature.
Although no fee has been mentioned in the report, it does go on to explain that bids are expected from Seville and Villareal in this transfer window, while managerless Newcastle have asked to be kept abreast of the situation.
The former Ajax player, who has appeared in all Celta’s La Liga games this season, has three assists but no goals to his name. However, he has proven to be one of the pass masters in the division this season, accumulating no fewer than 1049 passes with an 84.7% accuracy.
If the Tyneside club are to sign their man this transfer window, given the report indicating he wants to stay in Spain, they may need to move quick in order to show the player that he can be an important part of side in the Premier League.
