The London Evening Standard has reported Tottenham Hotspur star Paulinho is seeking clarification over his future.
The Brazilian has struggled for playing time this season and the paper suggests that manager Mauricio Pochettino’s decision not to start him against Sheffield United, has left him seriously considering his Tottenham future.
The Standard names seven clubs from across Spain and Italy as interested in doing a deal, which gives Spurs plenty of options if they’re looking to push him towards the exit door.
The enquiry from the player over his future reportedly comes because he wants to reignite his club career and subsequently earn his place back in the Brazil side.
Tottenham’s issue is the investment they made him and they’ll be looking to make back a large portion of the £17 million they paid to sign him originally from Corinthians.
A loan deal is possible because it’s difficult to see any side stumping up such a large sum of cash for a player who has barely played over the last six months.
However, Spurs could still opt to keep him altogether because of their involvement in four important competitions; the Premier League, the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Europa League.
It will be fascinating to see if there are any official offers over the next ten days.
