Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah has indicated that he wants sign for AS Roma.

Salah signed for Chelsea a year ago, but has never truly imposed himself at Stamford Bridge.

A €16 million arrival from FC Basel, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Salah has made just 18 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side, and he looks to be heading away from West London this month. As reported by the same Gazzetta article, Serie A side Roma are looking to sign the Egyptian international winger on loan until the end of the season, and have made an offer that includes the option to purchase him outright for a €15 million fee.

There has seemingly been some refusal on Salah’s part to open negotiations with the club, with a move to Italy not preferred, but the latest report published by TMW has indicated that the 22-year-old has now announced his intention to the Blues that he wants to join the Giallorossi.

The same story does highlight the fact that the two clubs have yet to come to an agreement concerning his transfer, with the first Gazzetta article suggesting that the West London club want to make a profit on Salah, rather than lose him for the same fee they paid; the €15m offer from Roma also includes a €1m loan fee paid this month.

TMW believe that it was Roma’s insistence in signing Salah that convinced the player he would be a key figure in Rome, as well as the knowledge that he would not only be loaned out to simply return to Chelsea in the summer, with the Italian club holding a keen desire to sign him permanently when the temporary stay is over.
