The Italian side are believed to be short of Tottenham's valuation.
You would be hard pushed to find many Tottenham fans who would not admit Hugo Lloris is the current star of the team. The French international has cemented his place among the world's top goalkeepers in recent months and that has apparently attracted suitors.
The report claims that Roma are looking for a new stopper as they believe veteran Morgan De Sanctis has run his race and young Pole Lukasz Skorupski is too inexperienced to take on the mantle of number one keeper.
With that in mind, fellow Frenchman Rudi Garcia has informed director of football Walter Sabatini that the player he wants between the sticks is Lloris.
However, they are being met by a major stumbling block - Tottenham's €30 million asking price. Roma are still hopeful of a deal, but plan on making a €20 million bid for the player in the summer, hoping their good relations with the club could smooth over any cracks.
The report goes on to claim that should Roma fail in their bid for Lloris , another Frenchman in Stephane Ruffier will become their first choice.
For Tottenham the report should be a concern. For instance, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and Roma don't, the Gialorossi will have a real advantage in their approach for the superstar stopper.
