Leeds completed the signing of Sol Bamba earlier on Friday.
Leeds United fans have reacted positively to the club confirming their first January signing, with the arrival of Sol Bamba confirmed by the BBC.
Bamba, 30, is an Ivory Coast international whose bad luck at Palermo has given Leeds a chance to sign him on loan.
The defender was part of his nation's World Cup squad, and signed for the Italian side last summer, but has only played one game in Serie A since signing, and was not selected for this year's African Cup of Nations, which is currently taking place.
Leeds have as a result swooped to bring in the centre-back, who has experience of playing in the Championship with Leicester City, where he became a real fan favourite. He also has played in Scottish football with Hibernian.
Neil Redfearn's side could do with his experience due to the potential ban hanging over Giuseppe Bellusci due to a racist language allegation made by Norwich City's Cameron Jerome, currently being investigated by the Football League.
Leeds won their first game in eight matches this week, beating league leaders Bournemouth 1-0 at Elland Road, halting their slide towards the relegation places.
Here's a look at the fan reaction to the deal...
I like the signing of Bamba but going to wait and see how he plays before judging him #lufc— James (@jimmy_L_UFC) January 23, 2015
Personally think Sol Bamba is a class signing for Leeds.. #lufc— Rossi (@MrROSSii1990) January 23, 2015
Sol Bamba reminded me of a lower league David Luiz whem he was at Leicester. Over priced a liked a dribble, but couldn't. #lufc— Jacob Atkinson (@JacobAtkinson_) January 23, 2015
Anyone caught singing La Bamba to our new signing will be asked to leave #lufc— Michael Howe (@MickHowe1969) January 23, 2015
Bamba is a decent signing despite recent lack of games. Might compliment cooper well. #lufc— Irish_Leeds (@Irish_Leeds) January 23, 2015
Bamba and Cooper, on paper, should be a decent CB pairing #lufc— Nathan Robson (@Nathan__Robson) January 23, 2015
