Arsene Wenger refused to rule out more transfer business this month at his press conference ahead of the FA Cup game against Brighton.
Arsenal recently confirmed a deal via their website for Krystian Bielik of Legia Warsaw and the boss says if the price is right, the club could make further additions in the market.
“We are ready to pay the price for a player if he is good enough. If the price is right, we will pay,” said the boss.
Arsenal have an arguable need for an extra defender to slot into the middle of their defence, while an extra option at holding midfield could help to take some of the pressure away from current players in the squad.
The Daily Mirror has reported details of Arsenal’s current financial strength, which further suggests they could afford a range of transfer fees if the club needed to move on a potential target at short notice.
Whether Wenger follows throw on his statement remains to be seen.
