Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave a fitness update on several key players at his press conference ahead of the Brighton and Hove Albion FA Cup game.
The boss revealed that new signing Krystian Bielik isn’t fit following his move from Legia Warsaw and therefore, won’t take part against Brighton.
“He has only just come from Poland so he is not fit because they had a winter break. He won't play,” said Wenger.
The news could mystify some Arsenal fans because it creates the obvious question of why they club signed a player in the middle of an important season who they can’t use.
On a more positive note the boss confirmed that Serge Gnabry is back in first team training, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Hector Bellerin are set to have fitness tests later today.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain and Bellerin will have fitness tests today, Serge Gnabry is back in training – Welbeck is out.”
The boss also confirmed that Mesut Ozil is likely to start the game, with no other fresh concerns for the manager over his squad.
