Tottenham star Erik Lamela confirms he is back in training after calf injury

The Argentine playmaker has not played in 2015 because of the injury.

Tottenham's most expensive player Erik Lamela has certainly improved this campaign, after a terrible first season with the club. The BBC reported that the Argentine cost them a total of £29.9 million, including additional bonus payments, from Italian side AS Roma.

He barely made a dent on the first team last season but under Mauricio Pochettino he has certainly been a more pivotal figure for Spurs.

Recently he has been out of action. Lamela, who spent most of last season on the sidelines with a back injury, picked up a calf injury toward the end of 2014. His last game for the club was in a 0-0 draw with Manchester United and he is yet to play for Spurs in the New Year.

However, it would appear he is on his way back.

In the midst of his promotional Tweet for his brand new adidas boots Lamela also confirmed that he was back in training with the first team.

The Express also confirmed earlier this week that Lamela was in contention to feature in the FA Cup tie against Leicester City on Saturday.
