A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pohettino defended his decision to name Emmanuel Adebayor as captain for the League Cup semi-final against Sheffield United last night to the Daily Mail.
The striker started the game and took the armband ahead of Jan Vertonghen, which would have caused one or two raised eyebrows.
The boss says the striker has a lot of qualities which will help him in a leadership role.
The boss has also been quoted by Goal.com suggesting that Tottenham won’t find it easy to defend their 1-0 lead against the Blades in the second leg.
Pochettino says the side need to firmly understand what they’re up against in order to get a victory.
“Now we go to Sheffield with a victory but it will be tough up there - It's important to understand what we're up against. We need to go to Sheffield to win,” he said.
The London Evening Standard has revealed Tottenham are ranked 13th in the latest published list for the leading football club’s creating revenues.
The club is behind Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal based on the latest report according to the paper.
