Liverpool will demand at least €10 million for Brazilian Lucas Leiva if they are to let him leave, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan during the January transfer window, but Liverpool will demand a substantial fee plus bonuses for their man, the Italian newspaper claims.
Inter have been chasing a defensive midfielder since the summer, but more so in the January transfer window, after securing deals for attacking talents such as Lukas Podolski from Arsenal and Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich.
That seems to have led Inter to turn their attention to Liverpool midfielder Lucas, who has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers, despite a recent run in the side.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Mancini has spoken with the Liverpool manager about a deal and the fee has been set at the previously mentioned €10m. It is allegedly now up to the former Manchester City manager to convince the Inter Milan board to carry through the transfer.
