There are reports that Michael Essien has turned down a move to MLS side FC Dallas.
Essien is currently contracted to Italian side AC Milan, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season.
He only joined the Italians from Chelsea on a free transfer last winter, but the Ghanian has struggled to break into the side that is currently eighth in the Serie A table under the guidance of Fillipo Inzaghi.
It is unlikely that the Italian giants will offer him an extension to his current contract, forcing the midfielder to begin searching for a new club elsewhere with there being reported interest from England and the Premier League.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, newcomers Burnley and Leicester City have both made approaches for the veteran midfielder, who was a key component of Jose Mourinho’s original successful spell at Chelsea.
However, the 32-year-old reportedly may reject the offers from the Premier League duo in favour of a move to America and the MLS, with side FC Dallas. Now though, that move seems to have turned sour with the midfielder no longer keen to move to America, according to Calciomercato.
