Roberto Soldado admits Tottenham's win over Sheffield United was tough.
We suffered to win the first battle!!! Next week we have the last 90 minutes to get the final!! Road to Wembley!!! pic.twitter.com/RcFPPWiMb5— Roberto Soldado (@R9Soldado) January 21, 2015
Roberto Soldado was only on the pitch for the final 25 minutes, but he saw enough to know that Spurs were in a battle against Sheffield United.
The Spaniard came off the bench with the score at 0-0, and played a key role in Tottenham's victory, winning the penalty which Andros Townsend converted.
He sent a message out on Twitter after the win, stating that Spurs had to suffer to win, which is really what you would expect from a semi-final in any competition, and it's huge credit to Sheffield United that Tottenham's players came away feeling that way.
Tottenham may have won the first leg, and be just 90 minutes away from the League Cup final, but it was mission accomplished for Sheffield United in terms of keeping the tie alive heading back to Bramall Lane with all to play for.
They also appear to have given Tottenham's players a real sense of trepidation, for while they were saying the right things before the game about not under-estimating the Blades, now they have first hand experience of how tough it will be, and know it will be trickier with United's home support pushing them all the way next week.
