Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still keen on a deal for James McCarthy.
Tottenham Hotspur could include Aaron Lennon and club captain Younes Kaboul in a deal to sign James McCarthy according to an exclusive from Goal.com.
Tottenham were linked with a move for McCarthy earlier in the transfer window by the Daily Mirror, with the club reportedly viewing him as an alternative to Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin.
The report suggests that the duo could be included in a deal along with a fee of £20 million to try and push through a deal in the current transfer window.
Everton’s reported interest in Kaboul and Lennon is understandable with the centre back someone who can offer some resilience in defence, while Lennon would give Roberto Martinez something different in a wider role.
Should Spurs manage to complete a deal, McCarthy would most likely play in a slightly more advanced position in front of Tottenham’s defence.
One of his best arguable qualities in an Everton shirt is how he snaps at players heels and breaks up play effectively before playing the ball forward to more creative players.
