Norwich City legend Iwan Roberts has been quoted by the Eastern Daily Press, warning Swansea City over signing Martin Olsson.
The paper claims Olsson is the player the Swans have identified to replace Neil Taylor, who has been tipped to move to Crystal Palace to play for Alan Pardew.
If that deal goes through, Swansea boss Garry Monk will need extra cover for his defence, but Roberts says the Norwich star shouldn’t be the man targeted.
“I don’t think he’s anywhere near the defender Neil Taylor is. I don’t think Swansea can really afford to lose him because they haven’t got cover,” said Roberts.
The Guardian has reported that Palace are pressing ahead in their attempts to sign Taylor with a £4.5 million offer on the table after Monk’s side rejected a £3 million bid from the London based team.
With just over a week left to run in the current transfer window, Swansea have to be careful because any late deal without a replacement coming in would be a blow of the side.
