Report: Palace 'haven't blinked' over Gomis price, Rhodes identified as replacement for Swans

Bafetimbi Gomis for St Etienne

Bafetimbi Gomis' Swansea City exit is a step closer according to the Daily Mirror.

The Daily Mirror claims Crystal Palace haven’t blinked and been put off by Swansea City’s £9 million request for striker Bafetimbi Gomis.

The Mirror also suggests that the Swans will look to replace the former Lyon star with Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes identified as the man to come in and fill the void up front.

Gomis’ departure might not go down particularly well with Swans fans who have just been forced to see Wilfried Bony leave the club and join Manchester City.

However, Rhodes is one of the most talented Scottish players around at the moment and could be effective in the Premier League.

There would have likely been concerns for Palace fans that Swansea’s price tag (which is based on Swansea making money back according to the Times) would have put the club off from making a move but the paper suggests they haven’t been deterred.

Whether Rhodes for Gomis is a good swap for Swansea is debatable but it looks like the latter’s exit is a deal, which will happen before the end of the current transfer window.
