According to reports from Sky Sports, Crystal Palace still wants to sign QPR midfielder Jordon Mutch despite the R's rejecting a loan bid.
Mutch, 23, only joined QPR from Cardiff City last summer, with Harry Redknapp forking out around £6m to bring the former Birmingham youngster to Loftus Road.
Despite the large fee, Mutch has started just six Premier League games this season, and made substitute appearances in three other games as a bit-part player under Redknapp's management.
Yet, it's still something of a surprise to see that there is interest in Mutch, with Crystal Palace reportedly looking into the possibility of taking him to Selhurst Park.
New manager Alan Pardew should be active in the transfer market in the coming days, and Sky Sports believe that he's already had a loan bid rejected for Mutch.
However, QPR are willing to listen to permanent offers for Mutch, and have already rejected a £4m bid from Palace for Mutch, with Sky Sports believing that QPR want to recoup the majority of the fee they paid just six months ago.
That seems unlikely, but it all depends on how much Pardew wants to bring Mutch from West to South London. If he sees him as a long-term fixture of the Palace midfield, he could well sanction that £6m fee - but this rumour still seems like something of a surprise considering Mutch's lack of action this season, and the fact that he penned a four-year contract with QPR last summer.
