The Hull Daily Mail has confirmed in an exclusive that Hull City have made contact with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal for Aaron Lennon.
Hull want to take the player on loan according to the paper’s report, but Spurs are thought to be keener on a permanent deal, which will provide funds for Mauricio Pochettino to use in other areas.
Lennon has been widely linked with an exit from Tottenham this winter, with the Stoke Sentinel suggesting Stoke are still interested in a deal while also mentioning Everton as another rival for his signature.
Spurs can free up funds for other players whichever deal they take with a fee providing obvious resources while a loan deal could create a little more room for the club in terms of wages, should Hull or any other side agreed to cover the cost of his personal terms.
Lennon was an unused substitute during Tottenham’s win against Sheffield United in the first leg of the League Cup tie last night.
