Swansea City manager Garry Monk will be eager for the FA Cup game against Blackburn Rovers because of the drubbing his team were handed by Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in their last game.
The Welsh club need to bounce back with a positive result and they will go into the game this weekend as favourites despite the good form shown by Blackburn in the Championship this season and their home advantage.
Monk could use the match to drop one or two players who underperformed against Chelsea last weekend or he could stick with a similar side, urging the players who took part to correct the weaknesses shown last weekend.
It’s a difficult time for Monk as he deals with trying to attract new players in the transfer market as well as preventing his best stars from following Wilfried Bony out of the exit door.
Being the favourites for the game may make things a little more difficult for the Swans, because it takes the pressure away from Blackburn and means they can play with some extra freedom during the game.
Here’s the possible side Monk could select for the match.
Swansea City: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Sigurdsson, Carroll, Dyer, Castro Oliveira, Emnes, Gomis
