Goldman Crowned

Bank of America’s Tim Watson, hired in 2010 to oversee Canadian energy and power investment banking, has left the firm, according to a person familiar with the move.

Bloomberg News reports that the bank is searching for a replacement, according to the person, who requested anonymity because the matter hasn’t been made public.

Watson was a managing director at the firm’s Merrill Lynch unit in Calgary.

In the meantime, Bloomberg News also reports that Goldman Sachs have hired Raj Mahajan, the former head of high-frequency trader Allston Trading, as a partner to oversee its dark pool and algorithmic-trading businesses.

Mahajan will serve as head of equities electronic execution services, based in New York and reporting to Adam Korn and Ronnie Morgan, according to an employee memo obtained by Bloomberg News.
