Louis van Gaal revealed Ashley Young, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans are out of tomorrow evening's trip to Cambridge United at his pre-match press conference.
It's not all bad news for United though, as their manager said that Luke Shaw and Robin Van Persie are available, but would have to see how the next training session goes.
Van Persie has recently been struggling with an ankle problem, while Shaw has had a complaint with his hamstring.
Young misses out as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury while Evans is believed to have a knock.
There has been plenty of speculation on whether Victor Valdes will make his first start for the club after signing this month.
So far, the experienced Spaniard has provided cover for David De Gea for the past two Premier League games, but van Gaal seems to be giving nothing away, telling MUTV: "I don't want to say anything about my line-up until just before the game.
"I have read in the media he is picked. That is a little bit strange. I cannot answer the question. I will give you my line up."
During the recent win against Queens Park Rangers, United fans had called for the side to be more attacking and change to a 4-4-2 formation.
Van Gaal commented on his philosophy again, saying: "We have played the 4-4-2 diamond shape for five or six games and we have created a lot of chances, but we have also conceded a few goals against us and that is the balance of the team. At this moment I am strict on our philosophy. Everyone has to perfom in that philosophy."
